Members of the Serbian government’s delegation, including Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic, Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo, Minister of Capital Investment Velimir Ilic, Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov, and Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic as well as National Bank of Serbia Governor Radovan Jelasic, said during the talks that they expect that the IMF will agree to extend the ongoing three-year financial arrangement, approved to Serbia-Montenegro in 2002.
IMF representatives welcomed the government’s efforts to reduce the trade deficit and its commitment to structural reforms. They added that insufficient changes in the structure of companies and the negative balance of payment remain key problems.
