Serbian delegation to attend UN General Assembly general debate

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will lead a delegation of Serbia at the General Debate of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, to be held on 20-26 September in New York.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will be in the delegation.
During the debate, Dacic will take part in many events in the UN, which will be an opportunity for him to present views of our country on key issues of international importance.
Today the First Deputy Prime Minister will attend a UN summit on refugees and migrants, and several meetings of regional format.
He is scheduled to participate in a working meeting of foreign ministers of Western Balkan countries with Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, and in ministerial meetings of the Cooperation Process in Southeastern Europe and the Central European Initiative.
In the context of the Serbian Chairmanship of the Organisation for Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Dacic will be hosting an informal meeting of foreign ministers of the member states of this organisation on 23 September.
As a member of the OSCE Troika, he will participate in a high-level event, organised by Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, in his capacity as OSCE Chairman-in-Office, themed "The power of civilian crisis management - strengthening the capacity of the OSCE as a regional organisation on the basis of Chapter VIII of the UN Charter".
The participation in the general debate will be an opportunity for the First Deputy Prime Minister to meet with many foreign ministers and other officials of UN member states, as well as with senior representatives of international organisations, including the UN, EU and Council of Europe.
The meetings will be used for the presentation of key foreign policy priorities of Serbia, especially in the field of European integration and the defence of sovereignty and territorial integrity and national interests regarding the issue of Kosovo-Metohija.
In this way, the lobbying against further recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija will continue, which has been done intensively during Dacic's participation at the 17th Summit of Non-Aligned Movement, on the island of Margarita in Venezuela, which was held from 15 to 18 September.
