The note of protest recalls that President of Slovenia Borut Pahor made this statement during the visit of Hashim Thaci to Slovenia on 6-7 June.
Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Goran Aleksic handed over the note of protest to Slovenian Ambassador to Serbia Vladimir Gasparic.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines that this is not the first time that Slovenian officials call for the recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of the so-called Kosovo, threatening the supreme interests of Serbia.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs points out that the statement of Slovenian officials in connection with the unilaterally proclaimed independence of the so-called Kosovo, essentially undermine efforts which Serbia and the European Union are investing in status neutral dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as the only legitimate framework for achieving stability in Kosovo-Metohija.
The Slovenian side is asked in the note of protest to refrain in the future from such and similar statements that directly harm our bilateral relations and mutual trust, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
