Minister of Defence Zoran Djordjevic and Minister of Defence Sergei Shoigu said today that the overall relations between the two countries are traditionally good and based on historical friendship between the two brotherly peoples, as evidenced by numerous visits at all levels.

Djordjevic, who is attending the Moscow conference on international security, reiterated that our country pursues an autonomous and independent foreign policy in accordance with its national interests, while actively building partnerships in the East and the West.
The Minister stressed the commitment to military neutrality, in accordance with the Declaration of the Assembly of Serbia, as well as the right balance of relations with all stakeholders.
He said that our country cooperates with NATO within the Partnership for Peace programme with no aspirations for membership.
Djordjevic and Shoigu also exchanged opinions on all current general, military-political and security situation in the regions of the two countries.
