According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, Djordjevic and Bordyuzh spoke about participation in peacekeeping operations and the fight against terrorism, as well as fight against drug trafficking, which poses a serious threat on the global level.
Djordjevic said on this occasion that the Republic of Serbia is committed to military neutrality, and that it cooperates with NATO within the Partnership for Peace programme.
He said that Serbia has no aspirations for membership in NATO, which allows Serbia as well as the CSTO member states, to be actively involved in regional and world security.
The Minister of Defence underlined that the full membership in the European Union is a man foreign policy priority of Serbia, as well as maintaining excellent relations with all partners around the world at the same time.
In this sense, Serbia is trying to develop a good working partnership with the CSTO member states, which is particularly applicable to the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Armenia.
It is particularly emphasized that Serbia conducts an independent foreign policy, with respect to its own national interests, and that it will continue to be guided by those principles, particularly in relation to the current migrant crisis, it is said in the statement.
