The penning of the 5.6-km Corridor 10 motorway stretch is important for citizens of Leskovac, Jablanica and Pcinja districts as well as for launching new investments in that region, he said.
Vucic said that there were 400 workers on the job at every moment, as well as a total of 49 subcontractors from Serbia hired to complete the works on the Grabovnica-Grdelica section, located on the southern arm of Corridor 10.
He said that the whole Corridor 10 through Serbia will be completed in a year’s time, noting that the works on 25 km of road through Grdelica gorge are to be completed.
Vucic also thanked the World Bank for a favourable loan provided for works on Corridor 10.
Vucic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic toured the Grabovnica-Grdelica section on a bus, accompanied by representatives of the media.
The event was also attended by General Technical Manager of the company Terna Georgios Perdikaris and Director of Corridors of Serbia Dmitar Djurovic.
The works, financed by the World Bank, were completed a month and a half ahead of schedule.
The project, including both sections, started in April 2012 and is worth more than €100 million.
Also attending today's ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Board of Terna Energy SA Georgios Perdikaris, Corridors of Serbia Director Dmitar Djurovic, Serbian Minister of Transport Zorana Mihajlovic.
