The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement today that it sent a request to Turkey to take measures to stop the negative campaign launched against Serbia, with the aim of preventing consequences to its reputation and overall bilateral relations.
Serbian Ambassador in Ankara Danilo Vucetic had talks today at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding recent articles in the Turkish media on the alleged involvement of Serbian snipers on the side of Kurdish organisation PKK, and on the arrest of a Serbian agent in the Turkish town of Sur.
Turkish Ambassador in Belgrade Mehmet Kemal Bozay was summoned to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the same reason.
The Turkish officials said that the claims on Serbian snipers are speculations and false statements, and they did not confirm allegations on the arrest of a member of the Serbian security service in Turkey either.
The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the Turkish side to present official information on the cases in question, reads the statement.
