Vucic signs decision on dismissal of defence minister

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic informed government members at a government session today that he had sent a motion to the Serbian parliament to hold an extraordinary session on 5 February in order to examine the dismissal of Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic.

Upon signing the decision on the dismissal of Gasic today, the Prime Minister thanked him on very good results achieved in increasing the combat readiness of the Serbian Army and in boosting the military industry, but underlined that the words he used in a public speech cannot and must not be repeated in the future.
The Prime Minister authorised Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic to perform functions of the defence minister until a new minister is appointed.
The Serbian government set aside €500,000 for children of Syria that will be released at a donors' conference in London on 4 February through UNICEF.
