Improvement of military technical cooperation of Serbia, Russia

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic received today First Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation Andrey Arturovic Boytsov and representatives of the Russian delegation who participate in the work of the Serbian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Military Technical Cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Acting Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradovic and Head of the Directorate for Defence Technology Major General Bojan Zrnic.
The talks dealt with the improvement of the military technical cooperation, with the purpose of increasing the capacity of the Serbian Army and the concretisation of joint projects in the field of defence industry.
After the meeting with the Serbian Defence Minister, the meeting of the Serbian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Military Technical Cooperation was continued, which started this morning in the Department for Material Resources of the Ministry of Defence.
In addition to representatives of the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, the meeting was also attended by representatives of the Russian Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation and of companies and banks from Russia.
The participants talked about equipping the Serbian Army with the Russian-made weapons and military equipment, the improvement of capacity for maintenance of the Russian-made aircraft platforms and air defence system in Serbia, as well as the promotion of cooperation between defence industry companies of the two countries.
According to the plan of the visit, representatives of the Russian delegation should visit tomorrow the scientific research and overhaul facilities of the Serbian Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army, and some companies of the Serbian defence industry, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defence.
