Stojkovic told the Council of Europe representatives that the Ministry of Justice prepares protocols on cooperation with neighbouring countries that will include harmonisation of regulations, modernisation of the judiciary, the fight against organised crime, terrorism, human trafficking, money laundering and corruption.
Stojkovic said that there are few ethnically motivated incidents in Sandzak and Novi Pazar, but that there are conflicts between Muslims and Bosniaks that have a political background.
He said that the biggest problem of the Serbian judiciary is that some judiciary office holders perform their work with delay and poor quality and added that the new laws on mediation and notaries will facilitate the work of courts, that the rationalisation of the court network will secure greater efficiency, which will in turn allow for the increase of salaries of judiciary workers.
