Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica received today Milos Budin and Jonas Cekuolis, who are members of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States, and stressed that the Serbian government achieved significant and concrete results, which is confirmed by the positive assessment of the Feasibility Study for Serbia-Montenegro.
The Prime Minister said that the government adopted more than one hundred bills harmonised with EU legislation and will continue to do so.
Kostunica said that the government has paid great attention to improve the position of national minorities and reiterated that the National Minorities' Council consists of representatives of national minorities in Serbia.
Budin praised the achievements of the Serbian government and said that the situation in the country is much better than a year ago.
Kostunica pointed to the difficult position of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and said that the criteria for evaluation of standards in Kosovo must be precisely determined. Also, the basic human rights of Serbs and other non-Albanians in the province must be respected.
