Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic with associates met today with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss the completion of the privatisation process, reform of public enterprises and the improvement of systems and processes of bankruptcy in Serbia.

Sertic said on the occasion that the current activities of the Ministry of Economy and the Serbian government put an end to the practice of financial support from the state to socially-owned enterprises.
He said that now the focus is on 17 strategic enterprises whose final status will be resolved by the end of May next year, and added that he expects solutions for seven of those companies to be certain until the end of the year.
The Minister said that cooperation with the World Bank is intensive on improving the system and institutions for the implementation of bankruptcy to make these processes more effective in the service of healing the economy.
