Germany close partner of Serbia

Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration Jadranka Joksimovic spoke today with Minister of State for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany Michael Roth about the process of Serbia's accession to the EU.
At the meeting it was agreed that Serbia has made progress in many areas, adding that it is a demanding path that involves a lot of adjustments and changes, but that brings concrete benefits to the citizens of Serbia.
Joksimovic reiterated that Serbia expects that the first chapters will be opened by the end of the year, and that this next step in the process of European integration for Serbia is important because it gives an extra boost to reforms.
Roth underlined that the German government supports the constructive process of European integration of Serbia and that it is its close partner.
He also pointed out that early opening of negotiation chapters is in the common interest of Germany, the EU and Serbia.
