Stefanovic said in a media statement that according to available information, this request is not yet on the agenda of the next session of the Interpol General Assembly, to be held in Rwanda.
The Serbian government will, however, inform the Secretary General of this international institution and all its members, why such initiative is illegitimate and harmful, said Stefanovic.
The Minister said that Kosovo-Metohija, as an integral part of Serbia, cannot be represented independently at Interpol.
It is a territory from where came some terrorist attacks and from which tens of thousands of Serbs were expelled. Therefore, the state will in the forthcoming period take an active campaign to show that the admission of Kosovo is not in the interest of international investigative institutions, and would not be good for relations between Serbia and the Interpol either, said Stefanovic.
