Improving cooperation of Serbia, United States in field of defence

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic stated today at a meeting with US Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby that the cooperation of that ministry and the Serbian Army with the US in the field of defence is dominant in relation to other partners in the world.

During the meeting, which dealt with bilateral military cooperation, Gasic said that the Plan of bilateral military cooperation for fiscal year 2016 envisages 127 activities, excluding the education of Serbian soldiers in the United States.
Half of all international exercises in which our soldiers participate is part of the bilateral military cooperation with the United States, he recalled.
He underlined that the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army will continue to develop cooperation with the United States, which will be encouraged by the upcoming preparations and a joint medical engagement of the Serbian Army and the Ohio National Guard first in Serbia and then in Angola.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to Kirby for his personal contribution to promotion of cooperation in the field of defence.
Gasic and Kirby also spoke about the upcoming bilateral defence consultations and holding of top level meetings, according to a statement by the Ministry of Defence.
