Letter of protest to Croatia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented today to the charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Belgrade Ivan Sabolic a p protest note regarding the unacceptable statements and actions during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the military operation “Storm”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses strong protest to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia following the slogans that are not just hate speech, but a call to lynch and destruction of the Serbs.
Such behaviour is absolutely contrary to civilisation and European values, as well as anti-fascist tradition of the European Union and is the harshest violation of human and minority rights guaranteed by international organisations of which the Republic of Croatia is a member of.
The Republic of Serbia expects from the Republic of Croatia as a full member of the EU to fulfill all the commitments it has made by joining the EU, in particular as regards the protection of minorities, the return and integration of displaced persons.
Also, it is expected that the organisers and perpetrators of the above offences are punished in accordance with laws and international conventions, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
