Gratitude to Germany for help in fight against irregular migration

Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic spoke today with German Ambassador to Serbia Axel Dittmann about the issue of irregular migration and the efforts our country is making to control it.

Stefanovic informed Dittmann about intensified activities of the police at the borders with Macedonia and Hungary, and expressed gratitude for the help of German police officers in the fight against irregular migration.
He also presented the measures taken by the Ministry of the Interior regarding false asylum seekers and the two officials discussed possible joint projects aimed at addressing this problem.
The European integration and the activities undertaken by the Ministry of the Interior to fulfil the obligations set out in Chapter 24 were also discussed.
Dittmann praised previous work and results in this area, according to a statement by the Ministry of the Interior.
