Selakovic and Joksimovic discussed with Paquet the measures and objectives defined in the Action Plan for the negotiation of Chapter 23, which relate to the judiciary, the fight against corruption and fundamental rights.
Paquet said that Chapter 23 is one of the most difficult negotiating chapters, and that developing the action plan for this chapter was, therefore, a difficult and demanding process.
He noted that Serbia invested a great effort in making this action plan, and that he will discuss the details of the action plan tomorrow at the meeting of expert groups.
Selakovic said that the action plan is a transparent and inclusive process involving more than 30 institutions and over 60 non-governmental organisations, with the aim of obtaining the highest quality solutions.
The Minister of Justice stressed that the promotion of the rule of law in Serbia depends on the willingness of each of the relevant institutions and organisations to implement the measures and activities defined by the Action Plan for Chapter 23.
The meeting was also attended by head of the negotiating team for negotiations on Serbia's accession to the EU Tanja Miscevic, a statement the Ministry of Justice reads.
