The Serbian government adopted at its session today the Bill on hailstorm damage prevention, whose implementation is expected to significantly improve systems from protection against hailstorm and to specify competencies at the state, provincial and local levels of government.
The Bill also regulates the stable way of financing hailstorm damage prevention activities, with precise definitions of the role and duties of local self-governments.
The field of international cooperation in hailstorm damage prevention is also regulated, since hailstorm damage in Serbia often reaches the level of a natural disaster.
In the previous decade, an average of between 100 and 110 days with potentially dangerous cloudiness have been recorded in Serbia annually.
