Development of bilateral military cooperation between Serbia, Turkey

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic met today with Ambassador of Turkey in Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozay to talk about improving strategic cooperation in the field of defence.
The Ministry of Defence said that Gasic and Bozay agreed that the friendly relations between the two countries are a good basis for the development of bilateral military cooperation.
The Defence Minister said that Turkey is an important and reliable economic partner to Serbia and that he is confident that the positive experiences of the Turkish bank taking over majority stake of Cacanska Banka will attract other investors from Turkey.
Gasic pointed out that when it comes to the presidency of the OSCE, Serbia will always insist on the necessity of solving problems by agreement and mutual understanding, especially in times of crisis.
He added that Serbia joined the international coalition against the Islamic state, because it sees it as a new security challenge.
Gasic thanked the Ambassador of Turkey on grants for the rehabilitation of the consequences of floods and announced consultations of defence ministries of the two countries to be held in Ankara from 28 to 30 April, the statement added.
