Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration and national IPA coordinator Jadranka Joksimovic spoke today with Director of the Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Jean Eric Paquet about establishing priorities in using funds from EU–IPA 2015 in the amount of around €200 million.
Joksimovic reiterated that the support from EU pre-accession funds should be focused on concrete measures and activities that will be visible and contribute to the efficient functioning of the state and a better life for citizens.
Representatives of the European Commission assessed that Serbia is a leader in the region when it comes to the planning of use of pre-accession funds.
The collocutors discussed the possibility to use part of the IPA 2015 in the amount of approximately €80 million as direct budget support designed to improve the management of public finances and development of public administration.
It is expected that a significant portion of the funds from the IPA 2015 and the regional instrument - Investment Framework for the Western Balkans - be used to finance investment projects in the field of transport and energy.
The direct benefit to agricultural holdings from the EU's programme for rural development, which will begin to be implemented next year, was also discussed, reads the he statement by the Office of the Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration.
