Promoting cooperation with Iraq in many fields

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic met today with Iraqi President Fuad Masum and Deputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq.

The Ministry of Defence stated that Gasic and Masum stated that relations between the two countries are characterised by friendship and absence of outstanding questions.
Gasic thanked Iraq for the principled support in defending the principles of international law and the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and Iraq’s non-recognition of Kosovo's independence.
The Defence Minister stressed that there are no obstacles to have large Serbian investment operations in Iraq again.
Al-Mutlaq noted that the overall bilateral relations between the two countries are good and are reflected in a developed economic cooperation.
Our idea is to have strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields, including cooperation in the field of defence, he stressed.
