Cooperation between defence ministries of Serbia, Iraq

Minister of Defence Bratislav Gasic and Iraqi Defence Minister Khalid Yasin al-Obeidi spoke about cooperation between the two ministries.

The Defence Ministry stated that Gasic presented the measures undertaken by the Ministry of Defence in order to improve the capacity and capability for Serbia’s presidency of the OSCE and its contribution in solving the current crisis situation.
Gasic stressed that Serbia and Iraq have a long tradition of bilateral relations of more than 60 years and that he is pleased that after a long period a Serbian defence minister is on an official visit to Iraq.
He said that Serbia and Iraq have had more than 30 years of cooperation in infrastructure, military, military-education and military-industrial fields.
I sincerely hope that we will continue with the cooperation, he added.
Gasic will be on a visit to Iraq by 26 February, the statement added.
