Preparation of counter-terrorism strategy

Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic and Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Peter Burkhard discussed the current cooperation and the adoption of the new Law on Police, which will contribute to the reform processes and improving the work of the Interior Ministry.
The two officials also discussed Serbia’s Chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) this year.
The collocutors spoke about the process of European integration of our country, especially about the activities related to Chapter 24 on justice, freedom and security, the continuation of cooperation in the field of internal control of the police and community policing, which, along with the fight against corruption and organised crime, is one of the priorities of the Interior Ministry.
Stefanovic recalled the active participation of the Interior Ministry in the fight against terrorism, and announced the work on a strategy for the fight against terrorism and action plan for its implementation.
In addition, the presentation of a public opinion poll on the work of the police should take place soon.
