Serbia’s support to Nigeria in fight against terrorism, violence

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that it is with great concern and sincere sorrow that it follows an escalation of violence and the suffering of innocent civilians in the friendly Republic of Nigeria.
On the eve of the upcoming elections in the Republic of Nigeria, scheduled for February 2015, terrorists continue to kill hundreds of innocent people in the incessant attacks on churches and mosques, schools and government institutions.
The Republic of Serbia rejects with indignation terrorism as a method for achieving political, ethnic and religiously motivated objectives or resolving outstanding issues with each other.
Also, Serbia expresses its full solidarity with the people of Nigeria, with whom we have a long-standing friendship and provides strong support to the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in its fight against terrorism and violence.
Serbia also declares its readiness, within the limits of its capabilities, to provide all necessary help and support the efforts of the Nigerian government in addressing the problem of terrorism.
