Amendments to Law on state budget for 2014 adopted

The Serbian government adopted at its session today the Bill on amendments to the Law on the state budget for 2014 and sent it to the Serbian parliament for urgent consideration.
This bill proposes that significant savings achieved in the budget this year could be used to pay off the arrears and debts.
The government adopted the Bill on energy and the Bill on amendments to the Law on incentives in agriculture and rural development.
The government has withdrawn from parliamentary procedure the Bill on amendments to the Law on games of chance.
In the discussion about the Communiqué on the process of joining the European Union, it was estimated that the Serbian government is committed to the European path, and strives to fulfil all the obligations in the process.
The Serbian government is ready to continue dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which should start in Brussels in early February.
Head of the EU Mission to Serbia Michael Davenport, who took part in the debate, welcomed Serbia’s readiness to implement the Brussels agreement and contribute to the normalisation of situation in Kosovo-Metohija.
He praised the organisation and the success of the Third summit of heads of government of China and 16 countries of central and eastern Europe that was held in Belgrade this week.
