Serbia welcomes decision on normalisation of relations between US, Cuba

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that Serbia welcomes the historic agreement between Cuba and the United States on humanitarian release of prisoners and the opening of a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
The Ministry expressed confidence that the outstanding issues can be resolved only through dialogue and active engagement aimed at overcoming their differences and promoting common values and interests.
The decision on the normalisation of relations between the United States and Cuba is important not only for the two countries, but also for the entire international community as a symbol of victory of diplomacy, which in the context of current events in international relations is particularly important.
The Ministry hopes that the first step in the relaxation of relations will open space for a constructive approach to resolving all contentious issues in relations between the two countries.
