Amendments to laws on defence, army adopted

The Serbian government adopted at its session today the Bill amending the Law on Defence, which regulates the competencies in order to improve the functioning of the defence system of the country.

The government adopted the Bill amending the Law on the Army, with the aim of providing a more efficient system of command and functioning of the Serbian Army.
The amendments to the Law propose the prohibition of membership in political parties to all professional members of the Army of Serbia, or to the military personnel, as well as to the civilian employees of the Army of Serbia.
The cabinet also approved amendments to the Rulebook on detailed conditions, criteria and elements for lump sum taxation of taxpayer on income from self-employment, under which flat tax for lawyers will be increased up to 10% compared to 2013.
This regulation shall enter into force on the day following its publication in the Official Gazette.
