Seven persons related to murder of Marko Ivkovic detained

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it received today an official confirmation from the Turkish police that it detained seven people in connection with the murder of Serbian citizen Marko Ivkovic during the Galatasaray-Red Star basketball match in Istanbul on 21 November.
The Turkish police informed the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Istanbul that there is sufficient evidence that the detained persons are associated with this criminal act, and that the case will now be forwarded to the public prosecutor for further action.
The identity of the suspects will be made public in the coming days, in line with the procedure.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciates the dedicated work to date of Turkish investigative authorities in this case, hoping that the judicial authorities of Turkey will have an equally professional approach, which would certainly contribute to bilateral relations between the two countries, reads the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
