Italy to invest in organic fruit in Serbia

Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic-Boskovic and Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo positively assessed the bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Italy to date.
At the meeting held yesterday, Bogosavljevic-Boskovic and Manzo examined the possibility for future investments by Italian partners.
The two officials expressed readiness to assist the further realisation of the announced investments by company Rigoni di Sagio, in raising orchards by methods of organic production in eastern and southeastern Serbia.
Also, the agreement was reached to organise a meeting as soon as possible with representatives of Rigoni di Sagio in order to define activities and deadlines for the start of realisation of the investment.
This is one of Europe’s largest companies specialising in organic production.
The meeting was also attended by First Secretary of the Italian embassy in Serbia Marco Leone, reads a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection.
