During the first day of the assembly, Stefanovic said that this is a great opportunity to remind ourselves of what Serbia means for Interpol, but also of everything that Interpol has done for Serbia.
He emphasised that Serbia is today among the ten most desirable partners, as witnessed by Interpol data, and the same has been said by each of the 190 partner countries, which demonstrates our seriousness, precision and the role of the Serbian police in international relations.
The Minister of the Interior stressed the great importance of cooperation in Interpol as demonstrated by the successful resolution of the last few difficult cases in Serbia.
Our task is to get better organised in cooperation with other police forces in the region, but also at the level of Interpol.
We want to do so because crime knows no boundaries, crime is pooled and we have to put a strong defence for our citizens and our people have to know that our police will fight against corruption and crime, no matter where it comes from, Stefanovic concluded.
The event is also being attended by Police Director Milorad Veljovic and Head of the Directorate for International Police Cooperation Milan Dimitrijevic, reads a statement by the Ministry of the Interior.
