A statement by the Ministry of the Interior says that at the trilateral meeting it was agreed that the three countries have a common goal, and a high degree of interest in the improvement of police cooperation in the fight against illegal migration.
This should be provided by strengthening border security, trilateral action and the establishment of joint investigation teams.
Stefanovic said on this occasion that the fight against illegal migration is of great importance for Serbia and its accession to the EU, and that it appreciates very much the help of Hungary and Austria.
Bearing in mind that Serbia is the first country that borders the EU, the increased number of migrants may create additional problems. It is important to note that Hungary, Austria and Serbia, our border services and criminal police cooperate in order to solve this problem, as well as that of organised crime groups, the Minister underlined.
