First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic stated today that due to intensification of the armed conflict in Libya and a completely unstable security situation in Tripoli, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructs all Serbian citizens to leave Libya immediately and restrain from trips to that country.
The citizens of Serbia who are in Libya at the moment should contact the Serbian embassy in Tripoli at phone numbers: + 21821 / 362-32-05, + 21821 / 362-32-06.
At this point, the embassy of Serbia in Tripoli remains open, but because of the situation it can provide consular protection only to a limited extent.
The embassy can provide warnings regarding the crisis situation in Tripoli and the surrounding area, as well as information on possible directions for leaving Libyan territory.
All Serbian citizens who are currently in Libya are advised to submit their contact information to the Serbian embassy in Tripoli.
The international airport in Tripoli is closed down and other airports are in limited use, without precise timetable. One of the possible directions for leaving Libyan territory is through land, via Tunisia, reads the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
