Necessary agreement of Belgrade officials on basic aims for Kosovo-Metohija

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica today received Chairman of the Russian Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.

Kostunica said that the issue of standards and human rights in Kosovo-Metohija cannot be avoided and underlined that there are no conditions for a normal life of Serbs and other non-Albanians in Kosovo-Metohija, and that there was a visible lack of security.
He pointed out the importance of the agreement of all political officials in Belgrade on the basic aims for Kosovo-Metohija.
Kosachev supported the regional integrity of the State Union of Serbia-Montenegro as an important condition for stability in the region, and at the same time informed Kostunica on his impressions of his visits to Albania, Macedonia and Pristina.
Kostunica and Kosachev confirmed the importance of the renewal of the work of the joint economic relations committee and the participation of Russian firms in privatisation in Serbia, and also reiterated the importance of further intensification of economic relations between Serbia-Montenegro and Russia.
