Vulin informed the delegation of the World Bank, led by Head of the Belgrade Office of the World Bank Antonius Verheijen, about the extent of damage that Serbia has suffered in the recent catastrophic floods.
He pointed out that natural disasters particularly affected the already disadvantaged position of the poorest strata of the population, especially of the unemployed and beneficiaries of the social welfare.
The recovery of the areas affected by the floods is a priority of the government, the Minister underlined and explained that after the evaluation of the damage incurred, public works will be organised in order to remove consequences of floods more effectively.
World Bank representatives expressed their willingness to provide expertise and financial assistance in the performance of public works through a recovery loan.
