A statement by the Ministry says that the cooperation will be intensified in the field of strengthening the rule of law, implementation of the judiciary reform and European integration.
Selakovic and GIZ Project leader for Legal Reform in Serbia Mike Falke agreed during the meeting that cooperation over the previous two years was good, but that there are new areas in which it can be improved.
He informed representatives of GIZ that the Serbian parliament adopted amendments to judicial laws last week that will enable an effective establishment of the system of the public notary.
According to him, the public notary will be an important part of the reform of the judicial system in the way that it will improve legal certainty and judicial efficiency.
Falke underlined that Germany, through the activities of GIZ, wants to give full support to the negotiation process with the EU and to the strengthening of the judicial professions in Serbia (private bailiffs and public notaries), especially to the introduction and promotion of public notaries, who will begin with work in September.
