State of emergency in Serbia declared

The government declared an emergency situation in the territory of the Republic of Serbia because of the risk of flooding. This decision was taken at the proposal of the Staff for Emergency Situations in order to increase the capacity of engaging all stakeholders to protect and rescue and mitigate the consequences of floods.
The government has sent a letter to the government of the Russian Federation, the European Commission and the government of the Republic of Slovenia with a request to provide a humanitarian and technical assistance to Serbia for elimination of consequences of floods.
In order to provide assistance to the population affected by the catastrophic floods, the government ordered the Directorate for Commodity Reserves to deliver 1,000 tonnes of commercial maize required to feed livestock in the affected areas.
The government adopted the Bill amending the Law on personal income tax, paving the way for the implementation of reforms in the business environment and reducing risks and costs.
The government adopted the Bill amending the Law on compulsory social insurance, reducing the rates for contributions for pension and disability insurance to 26%, and of contributions for mandatory health insurance to 10.3%.
These changes will provide increased employment and relieve businesses.
The government adopted the Bill ratifying the $1 billion loan agreement between the government of the Republic of Serbia and the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
The cabinet also adopted the Bill ratifying the loan agreement between the government of the Republic of Serbia and the Development Fund of Abu Dhabi to finance irrigation systems.
