The Minister noted that the Serbia-US economic cooperation is recording an increase in all areas and that in the period from 2007 to 2013, the exchange of agricultural goods totalled around $30 million annually in both directions.
The US investments in agribusiness in Serbia reached $24 million, while the investments in small and mid-size companies added up to $14.7 million within the financial assistance for development of municipalities and opening of 470 companies, 32 offices for local economic development and 13,200 jobs.
The two officials agreed that the US organic food market is huge and offers opportunities for export of agricultural products from Serbia, primarily in the sectors of milk processing and berry production, mainly when it comes to fresh raspberries.
Bogosavljevic Boskovic and Kirby discussed cooperation in the sectors of veterinary science, flora protection and rural development, states the release.
