Assistance of ILO in implementation of Decent Work Programme

Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin met today with representatives of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to discuss the Decent Work Programme for the Republic of Serbia from 2013 to 2017 and the modalities for its implementation.
The ILO delegation comprised ILO Deputy Director for Europe and Central Asia Rie Vejs Kjeldgaard, ILO Director for Central and Eastern Europe Antonio Graziosi and national coordinator of ILO for Serbia Jovan Protic.
Special attention was paid to the plan for social cards and amendments to the labour law. Priorities of the Decent Work Country Programme were presented at the meeting as well as plans to strenghten the system of state institutions and social partners in order to improve the management of the labour market, increase employment opportunities and strengthen the social protection system.
One of the topics of the meeting was registration of membership of trade unions and employers' associations.
ILO representatives offered expert advice and assistance in further work on all issues, according to a statement by the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
