The Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining said today that the Czech government has approved financial support of 29 million Czech crowns (approximately €1 million) to Serbia’s state oil and gas company NIS for a project that comprises the building of a hazardous waste disposal centre, soil decontamination, and the protection of underground water in Novi Sad.
In a letter to Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov, Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Milan Urban said that some 11 million crowns will be available this year, reads the statement.
The entire sum will be used between 2005 and 2007 and the project will be jointly implemented by NIS and Czech firm Ekoline from Brno.
