Dacic delivers apartment keys to policemen in Medvedja

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic presented today in Medvedja apartment keys to ten members of the Leskovac Police Department - Police Station Medvedja.

Dacic said that the state is trying to build a system that will help resolve housing needs of police members at more favourable conditions, together with some banks and participation of trade unions.
He specified that the apartments given to police officers and their families are in a multi-storey building with 40 apartments, built with state funds, i.e., the Serbian Construction Directorate in early 2001.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that more than 50% of police officers in Serbia do not have their own flats and added that more than 100 flats for police officers are being built nearly ten years, while some of the sites have been abandoned.
Dacic stressed that southern Serbia must be preserved, whose main problem is economic instability and added that the most important thing is to maintain peace and stability in the south of the country.
The door to police are and will be open to members of Albanian and Roma national communities, Dacic stated.
