Serbia invests maximum efforts to gain candidate status by year-end

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic briefed Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn about the current situation in Serbia regarding the fulfilment of the action plan for acquiring candidate status, stressing that Serbia is investing maximum efforts to be granted candidate status by the end of the year.

Djelic said that Serbia will do everything to remain on the white Schengen list, but that it needs partner support and cooperation with the EU.
The Deputy Prime Minister presented to Asselborn the joint position of the Western Balkan countries regarding the EU’s new financial support to these countries after 2013.
