Norwegian model most efficient for false asylum seekers

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic stated today in Novi Sad that Serbia is doing its best to prevent false asylum seekers from going abroad.

Dacic noted that the EU should be more actively engaged in the resolution of this problem, noting that the Norwegian model has proven the most efficient in this respect.
The government in Oslo has declared Serbia a country where there is no political persecution, and therefore no reason for any of its citizens to seek political asylum in Norway, he explained.
Dacic underlined that Serbia has stepped up control on border crossings, main routes and Nikola Tesla Airport, from which a family with only €100 and a one-way ticket to Sweden on it, was returned.
The number of false asylum seekers is rapidly declining, he observed.
