Agreements on co-financing local employment action plans delivered

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Regional Development Verica Kalanovic and Director of the National Employment Service Dejan Jovanovic delivered today the agreements on co-financing local action plans for employment for 114 local governments in Serbia.

Kalanovic said that this event shows that the only way to combat unemployment is the joint activity of the government and local governments, and an active participation of the unemployed.
She noted that unemployment is one of the biggest problems our country currently has, pointing out that today's event shows that the strategy, plan and resources to address this problem do exist.
Jovanovic recalled that last year only ten municipalities had local employment programmes and explained that funds can be used only by those municipalities that have such local plans.
He specified that in 2010 only RSD 75 million was approved for this purpose, while this year the amount is ten times bigger.
