Kalanovic and Nujoma agreed that the political and diplomatic relations between the two countries are at an exceptionally high level, but the potential for their economic cooperation is underexploited.
In order to enhance the bilateral economic cooperation, Serbia and Namibia should sign an agreement on the encouragement and protection of investments and an agreement on avoiding double taxation, Kalanovic said, voicing her belief that they will be signed soon.
The two countries can boost their cooperation primarily in infrastructure, through design and construction of projects in the health, railway and road transportation sectors.
She said that they may also cooperate on geological research, especially copper exploitation.
Kalanovic presented Serbia’s macroeconomic circumstances and investment possibilities, government incentives for potential investors and comparative advantage of the Serbian market in relation to other countries.
Both sides agreed that today’s meeting is a step forward towards boosting the economic cooperation between the two countries.
