Kalanovic, during the visit to the open pit Krivelj, pointed out that all three programmes on the revitalisation of RTB Bor, which include the purchase of machinery for surface pits and the mine, investment in the smeltery and activities for the flotation plant in Krivelj, are going as planned.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that investment in RTB Bor will ensure greater profitability and reduce pollution.
She added that the first tranche of the loan for the smeltery of €15 million has already been invested in the preparatory works, which will enable the withdrawal of the second tranche of €135 million.
An agreement to adapt the flotation plant in Krivelj has been made, which will be completed this year, and there is also a possibility of recovery the flotation plant in Majdanpek, she said.
Kalanovic pointed out that the state has given guarantees to the Canadian Credit Bank for the smeltery, and will invest significant funds to meet liabilities to domestic contractors working on the smeltery.
All the investment in this big enterprise is justified because it will contribute to greater efficiency of the Bor company and make it the biggest copper producer in Southeast Europe.
During her visit to Boljevac today, Kalanovic handed over decisions on the implementation of public works to contractors from the Zajecar district, worth RSD 25.2 million, that over the next six months will employ 159 workers.
