Speaking at a ceremony marking the eighth anniversary of the formation of this directorate, Dacic underlined that the members of the directorate have carried out many tasks in the past, including the securing of visits of foreign statesmen to Serbia.
He recalled that members of the directorate were securing the visits of US Vice President Joseph Biden, President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, as well as the recent visit of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that members of the directorate in some way represent Serbia and underlined that it is of great importance that those who come to our country are satisfied with the treatment and the way the directorate conducts its affairs.
An important level of international cooperation has been achieved through trainings and courses at which the European model of security and protection was compared to the domestic one, he noted.
During the two visits, an agreement was reached with partner services from Germany and Israel about cooperation that will be realised in 2011.
The trainings helped to increase the level of readiness and capability of escorts and drivers of special vehicles, Dacic noted.
He voiced his pleasure at the fact that the Administration took over a series of activities in order to provide better working conditions to its members, and recalled that two years ago a specialised library was opened, as well as an educational and sport centre.
Dacic observed that the Administration faces a number of challenges, which is why it is necessary to monitor all contemporary security trends and exchange experiences with partner security services.
