Attending a promotion of the magazine “Challenges of European Integration”, Djelic said that Serbia is ahead of the spring of key EU reforms, given that over the next ten weeks we will implement the Action plan for the candidate status for EU membership.
He expressed the belief that this will be done by 15 June, when the European Commission will start drafting the opinion that will be published on 12 October.
During this period we need to adopt several complex laws, including the law on restitution, as well as legislation on financing political parties and the election of deputies.
Djelic stressed that it is very important that our country gets the status of a candidate and start negotiations on EU accession, noting that it is in interest of our citizens and the economy.
