Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic met today with Director of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (CESS) John Rose, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The purpose of the meeting was to get better acquainted with the current activities and programmes of the Centre and to further improve cooperation concerning the training of a larger number of Ministry of Interior personnel.
Since 2002, when the training started, 34 members of the Serbian police force have attended courses at the Centre and 19 Ministry employees were sent to the Centre to improve their language skills.
Considering the duties of the Interior Ministry regarding the fight against terrorism it was agreed at the meeting that members of the Serbian police force will be given further training, which falls within the range of specialist studies in security, according to a programme being run by the Centre.
CESS is a renowned international educational institution that aims to promote dialogue and understanding between the people of North America, Europe and Eurasia.
Schooling at the Centre ensures good training for members of the Serbian police force in the areas of security and anti-terrorism.
