First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic gave his New Year and Orthodox Christmas congratulations to the citizens of Serbia, expressing his hope that 2009 will be marked by common state policy.
I hope that we will be more peaceful in 2009 and that it will be marked by unity within our state and common policy, Dacic said, calling on citizens to care about public order and peace during the holidays and not to jeopardise anyone’s safety in traffic.
As for the Ministry of the Interior, I wish that citizens have as few dealings with the police as possible and I wish that the police have less workload in general.
May the New Year be more boring than the previous one. People with a boring history are lucky. We have an interesting history but I hope that in 2009 we will have peace and that the New Year will be marked by unity within our country, says Dacic in his message.
